Extracurricular activities

The summer school is a fantastic opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Alongside your courses, you will be offered to take part in an extensive programme with guest lectures, interdisciplinary seminars, site visits, and practical workshops. Our social programme will include a welcome and farewell ceremony as well as day trips and social activities, allowing you to experience Swedish culture and sustainability initiatives.
Discover what is scheduled each week through our Summer School Schedule, and be sure to review the newsletter sent out weekly by your student ambassadors, Bea and Hanna. These newsletters provide more comprehensive information about each event and instructions on how to register.

Aside from organised trips, a self-guide to Gothenburg will let you explore all that the city and surroundings have to offer in your own pace. You will find a broad variety of eco-stores, vegan cafés and second hand shops to explore. The natural surroundings of the city can be easily reached by bike or tram, and offer great opportunities for hiking, paddling and other outdoor activities.

Welcome Ceremony

The Welcome Ceremony will be held on June 28 from 10.00-12.00. This grand event will take place in the main university building where you will meet your fellow students and course leaders for the first time. There will be keynote speakers, live music, Swedish fika, and much more.

Farewell Ceremony

Our Farewell Ceremony will take place on August 2, from 10.00-12.00. Join us at the main university building as we bid farewell to you and hand out diplomas. Don't miss this opportunity to reminisce with friends and mentors over Swedish fika!
